Kanu was not alone in the drive to make the Super Eagles one of the best national teams in the world. Sultry voiced R&B top act, Dare Art Alade, was also on ground to give support to the national team, donning his green and white national colours ahead of Saturday’s duel. He was even at the last training session to ginger the team.
Nollywood stars, were also represented at Friday’s training as petit Osita Iheme, popular known as Aki, was also on hand to give the Eagles first hand support. Infact, Iheme along side Kanu, boarded the team’s bus with all the players and official on board only to give moral support to the team.
Eagles Media Officer, Ben Alaiya, quotes Assistant Coach Dan ‘The Bull’ Amokachi as saying that there are many more music and Nollywood stars who are already in the city just for the World Cup qualifier and the team appreciates their support and will not disappoint. “Certainly, we won’t disappoint them and Nigerians”, he said.
Anambra : PDP candidate, Nwoye’s name missing in voters register

NSUGBE – THE Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the Anambra, Mr. Tony Nwoye could not vote in Saturday’s election as he could not find his name in the voter’s register at his Nsugbe Ward 1 polling booth in Anambra East Local Government Area.
Also, his parents were unable to vote just as he alleged that over 30 percent of his supporters were disenfranchised as they could not trace their names in the register.
INEC officials on ground could not give reasons for the omission of their names even when they were all carrying valid voters card.
Nwoye who spoke to reporters said the rigging of the election was pre-planned and the style adopted by APGA in connivance with INEC was to remove people’s name from the voter’s register especially in areas where APGA lacked support.
Nwoye said the same list that was used to disenfranchise him and his parents was the same list that we used in voting in the last election and wondered how this time around over 30 percent of the registered names were missing.
He said he tried to communicate to the INEC boss Attahiru Jega but he was incommunicado.
“Unlike during the time of Iwu when I was the PDP chairman in the state, you get him with just one dial,” he posited.
Nwoye said as at now, the only option for him is to resign himself to fate until the results of the elections were released.
But he expressed optimism that despite the plot to disenfranachise him and his supporters in his hometown, he would still emerge victorious.
